Motorcycle suspension control unit

Controlling the suspension means adjusting the compression and rebound of the shock absorber to ensure perfect grip on the ground, braking responsiveness, safety. A pre-existing system needed improvements and updates that had to keep pace with mechanical evolutions and market demands.

A very detailed and complex specification of trials and tests required a product of great efficiency and durability. For Intea it was a founding parameter around which to rigorously redesign the control of the stepper motors and the communication with the main control unit via the CAN bus.

As a key feature of the motorcycle, the rider's pre-setting of their riding style before setting off was the fundamental operation that the Intea board would have to manage. The client provided a highly varied range of riding styles and the consequent actions to accommodate them by acting on the suspension. Intea's response was thorough and systematic, managing the damping issue as part of a whole, which is riding safely.

From a frank and intense dialogue with the client, and from compliance with standardized safety parameters, was born an efficient and long-lasting product a sign of good design and careful handling of the problem.
